Liz Williams is an American writer based in Australia with family ties to Wales. She studied writing at Gettysburg College, where she completed an honours thesis on her travels through Wales to reconnect with her Welsh heritage. Since 2014, she has written professionally for alumni and donor audiences through her work at The Australian National University, the University of Melbourne, and Carnegie Mellon University. Her story about learning Welsh and investigating her ancestry from Australia has been featured in the media including the BBC, Radio Cymru, and Wales Online. Liz’s writing on this topic has appeared in publications including Yr Enfys, Ninnau, Anglo & Celtic Australia, and Lingo Newydd. She resides in Canberra with her husband, Caleb, and their son, Levin.
